Exam Pattern

  • Prelims: Two objective-type papers:
    1. General Studies (GS)
    2. General Aptitude Test
      Both papers are qualifying in nature.
  • Mains: Six descriptive papers, including:
    1. General Studies I, II, III, and IV
    2. General Hindi
    3. Hindi Essay Writing
  • Interview: Personality test to assess your communication skills, decision-making ability, and overall suitability.

Paper I
MPPSC Mains Paper I: Summary Paper I focuses on testing your knowledge of history, culture, geography, world events, and governance. Here's a detailed summary of its components: 1. Indian History and Culture Ancient India: Indus Valley Civilization, Vedic Age, Mauryan and Gupta Empires, art, architecture, and literature. Medieval India: Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, regional kingdoms, cultural developments, and Bhakti-Sufi movements. Modern India: British colonial rule, freedom struggle, social reform movements, and post-independence events. Indian Culture: Heritage, performing arts, folk traditions, festivals, and contributions to world culture. 2. Indian and World Geography Physical Geography of India: Landforms, climate, vegetation, rivers, and natural resources. Economic Geography: Agriculture, industries, trade, and transport networks. World Geography: Continents, oceans, climatic regions, natural disasters, and global economic patterns. Madhya Pradesh Geography: Natural resources, forest cover, mineral deposits, and climatic conditions. 3. World History Major events like the Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, and American and French Revolutions. World Wars, the rise of communism, and the Cold War.
